*   **Hidden:** In the wall, looks neat and saves space.
*   **Sticky:** Uses suction cups or tape, good if you're renting.

*Tip:* Put toilet paper holders about 26 inches off the floor and about 8-12 inches away from the front of the toilet.

**Keeping It Clean**

*   Wipe it with soap or cleaner often.
*   Don't use rough stuff that will scratch it.
*   Look for rust (on metal) or mold (on wood).
*   Change batteries in automatic ones.

**How It Looks**

They come in all sorts of looks:

*   **Modern:** Shiny metal, glass, plastic, plain colors.
*   **Old-fashioned:** Wood, ceramic, fancy designs.
*   **Industrial:** Black metal, you can see the screws.
*   **Fancy:** Marble, leather, gold.

Match it to your bathroom or house.

**Good for the Earth & Easy to Use**

*   Stuff that's good for the earth: Bamboo, recycled plastic, or steel.
*   Big dispensers: Less trash from packaging.
*   Fancy dispensers: Save paper with motion sensors.
*   Waterproof stuff: Good for wet places.

**How Much It Costs**

| Type                   | Cheap     | Okay      | Expensive |
| :--------------------- | :-------- | :-------- | :-------- |
| Toilet paper holder    | \$2–10    | \$15–40   | \$50+     |

| Napkin holder          | \$5–15    | \$20–40   | \$50+     |

(Just guessing here, it varies a lot.)

**How to Pick the Right One**

Think about:

*   Where will you put it? (bathroom, car, kitchen, office)
*   Does it match the stuff you already have?
*   Do you want it stuck in one place or to be able to move it?
*   How much do you need it to hold, and how easy is it to refill?
*   Will it last, and is it easy to clean?
